Part II | TMPL Bath at Madison: A Tranquil Spa Escape in the Heart of NYC
A few weeks ago, I shared the first part of our shoot at TMPL Madison—now, we’re heading downstairs. This new level, known as TMPL Bath, is a modern spa experience designed to transport you into a space that feels more like a wellness retreat than a gym. Shooting here was all about embracing contrast: from the warm, ambient glow of the saunas to the cool, moody lighting over the plunge pools, each area had its own distinct energy, and the design language flowed effortlessly from one space to the next.
The lounge area, with its sleek sectional seating and lush greenery, set the tone—inviting, calm, and beautifully composed. One of the most visually satisfying aspects was how the vertical wooden slats wrapped the space and echoed throughout the rest of the spa. Every element was intentionally placed—from the salt walls in the Himalayan sauna to the symmetry of the infrared room—and it made capturing clean compositions a natural process. These kinds of interiors challenge you to balance ambient light and architectural lines, and that's where I get to slow down and really explore the space through the lens.
What makes projects like this so rewarding is how multi-sensory they are. You can almost feel the warmth of the cedar wood and the stillness of the water just by looking. My goal with TMPL Bath was to make those moments of peace and stillness feel as immersive on screen as they are in person. Whether you're an interior designer, spa architect, or wellness brand looking to elevate your visual presence, this space shows what’s possible when thoughtful design meets elevated photography.
